TRACKING
The dog focuses entirely on the ground, following the physical disturbance left by footprints.

THE WORKSHOP PROCESS
We build your dog's natural instincts step-by-step. Everything is done safely on a long line, so no recall is needed.

Build Interest
We start by building your dog's focus and drive on an article they will eventually find along the way or at the end of the track.

Lay The Track
Your dog rests in the car for 5-10 minutes while you lay the initial track using your footprints and a few food rewards.

Follow The Line
Your dog puts their nose down to track the path you've established. They work safely on a long line the entire time.
04
Find The Article
The ultimate goal! Your dog successfully indicates on the hidden article or person waiting at the end of the scent trail.
ENIGMA MANTRAILING TIMELINE
THE WORKSHOP PROCESS
We build your dog's natural instincts step-by-step. Everything is done safely on a long line, so no recall is needed.

Preparation & Scent
Intro
The dog is fitted with a harness (not a collar, to distinguish tracking mode).
You present a scent article (e.g., glove, clothing) from the target person.
The dog learns: “This is the scent I need to follow.”

Starting the Trail
The handler gives a clear cue (e.g., “Find!”).
The dog begins searching for the scent trail at the start point.
A long line (usually 5–10 metres) allows freedom while maintaining control.

Follow The TRAIL
The dog tracks the human scent across terrain (grass, pavement, woods).
It uses ground disturbance and airborne scent.
The handler follows and reads the dog’s body language (pulling, sniffing, changes in direction).

Find The PERSON (REWARD)
The dog locates the target person at the end of the trail.
Immediate reward (toy, food, praise) reinforces success.
This builds motivation and confidence for future trails.
